Diploma 12 is interested in instrumenting change through the strategic implementation of architectural practice. Using the design of strategically deployed events as a catalyst, we will build material worlds of our own that are carefully crafted for future communities, creating visionary architectural models that reflect their precise ideals and dreams.

Home Economics at the 2016 Venice Biennale

The Power of the Ad:

A series of artworks were produced by Matthieu Lavanchy and OK-RM for the 2016 British Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. The placement of everyday domestic objects with provocative statements enable the questioning of wider social and cultural issues; setting the scene for the theme of the exhibition.

 

 

The House of the Future:

The exhibit itself was centred around 5 future models for domestic living; designed according to the length of time spent in the space i.e. hours, days, months, years and decades. Like the adverts, the exhibit is a powerful way to begin to talk to a mass-audience about how we may live in the future; offering thoughts and provocations as opposed to absolute answers.
